Within this partnership we help each party use data to improve the curriculum within the school and performance of the employee within healthcare. We do this by studying what system, human, and clinical variables impact performance. This helps academia refine their curriculum by understanding the predictors of performance and helps operations get the most finely trained staff from the academic setting. This truly closes the theory- practice gap.

Dr. Nelson serves as President and CEO of Healthcare Environment (HCE), an international data analytics company. He has conducted research around the world with subsequent presentations and publications that have advanced measurement in caring science and outcomes management. His specialty in research includes measurement of staff safety in healthcare, model specification, psychometrics, predictive modeling, and the constructs of caring and job satisfaction. His expertise in predictive modeling helps organizations move from retrospective management of outcomes to prospective management of risk. He is the author of numerous publications and co-editor, with Dr. Jean Watson, of the book Measuring Caring.
